Dear Pre-professional Students: I have an exciting opportunity that involves creating a partnership between you and the FSU College of Medicine (FSUCOM) medical students. This program has been named the Argo-Noles Medical Mentors Program and emerged from discussions with the medical students at FSUCOM-Pensacola in which they suggested creating a mentoring program for UWF’s pre-pro students.
The FSUCOM medical students are very enthusiastic about this project and decided to name this program the Argo-Noles Medical Mentors Program.
There are some requirements for membership which include completing an application for the program. This program is open to students who are juniors or seniors, or members of the P4 program who are applying to, or have plans to apply to, medical or Doctor of Osteopathy schools. There is a GPA requirement of 3.3 or greater.
The Argo-Noles Medical Mentors Program Application requires some personal information and a personal statement of 500 words or less so the med students can match you with a suitable mentor. There are also a few questions about coursework completed, GPA and MCAT status.
If you are interested in being involved in this excellent program and you meet the standards stated in the application, please complete the application. The application is to be submitted to Dr. George Stewart in the Biology oiffce in Bldg 58/rm79 (the office personnel will accept your application and pass it to Dr. Stewart). One of the FSUCOM medical mentors will contact you when your application has been received.
Warmest regards,
Dr. George Stewart
