Buses are an important and welcome means of visitor/guest access to the UWF Campus. Unfortunately, most University parking facilities are not designed to accommodate bus traffic. As a result, in most facilities bus parking tends to obstruct visibility, compromise surface integrity from excessive weight loading, and impede parking for those who pay to park. Therefore, these guidelines have been established to assure pedestrian and bus rider safety as well as provide uniform standards for University parking facilities.
Special Event Parking
Parking & Transportation Services is here to help get your event off to a great start. Whether it’s a small or large event, we will work with you to allocate available parking that is most convenient for your guests. We can also provide Event Parking hangtags for buses along with a map indicating appropriate loading/unloading and parking areas for buses.
We recommend that Event Coordinators schedule their upcoming event with us as soon as possible. Once we have your details we will be able to provide you with the appropriate parking information to ensure a pleasant visit.
Event coordinators, please contact Parking & Transportation Services prior to sending parking instructions to your guests.
Bus Parking on the UWF Pensacola Campus
Parking & Transportation Services can make arrangements for parking any number of buses for your event. Please familiarize yourself with the following bus parking restrictions since failure to follow these rules could result in a citation.
Because bus parking is not always as close to an event as a loading/unloading area, we suggest that bus drivers plan ahead to take a trolley from the parking location. If there is only one driver/chaperone, perhaps the bus should be parked and all attendees walk together or take a trolley to the event location.
Guest Parking
University departments may order guest/visitor hangtags to be used on a specific date (conference permits) from Parking & Transportation Services. Requests must be received at least two business days prior to the date needed. Alternately, Parking Services can create an electronic pass for a department to email to attendees. The pass can then be printed and placed on the dash of each visitor vehicle. Please email parking@uwf.edu and supply the following information:
* Event, Event Date(s), Host/Department, # of Hangtags Needed, Contact Person, Campus Address and Phone.
* Put “Event Request” in the Subject line of your email.
We will notify the requester when the order is ready to be picked up. Hangtags may be picked up at our office, located in building 91, Monday-Friday. 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Conference hangtags may not be issued to faculty, staff or students. Conference permits may not be issued to vehicles registered to a current University of West Florida parking permit.
