Consistent with Known Population Data
When the UWF/Listener Group Panel was recruited we asked a
number of demographic questions. How do these panel demographics
compare with demographics that are known about the Pensacola
MSA?
The table below shows the percentage of panel members residing
in each county and also shows the percentage of households
reported for each county in the 2003 Survey of Buying Power,
published annually by Sales & Marketing Management Magazine
(http://www.salesandmarketing.com/smm/index.jsp
). There are no statistically significant differences
between the percentages of residents of 2003 Panel members
versus the percentages of residents in each county as reported
in the 2003 Survey of Power.
The table below shows the percentage of panel members by
marital status compared to marital status in the population.
Population data from the 2000 U.S. Census of the Pensacola
MSA for marital status are reported among those 15 years and
older. Since this is a different population than the panel
(few 15 year olds are heads of household), the “single” (Never
Married) category was omitted for purposes of comparing similar
populations.
The table shows that there are few differences between the
four marital status categories. The differences are not statistically
significant.
