Any student, classified as degree seeking, coming to the University of West Florida with 30 or more hours and classified as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior is strongly encouraged to attend Transfer Transition. For a student who is starting in January we have one session which takes place just before the Spring semester begins. If a student is starting in the summer we have two sessions to accommodate the different terms. For students starting school in the Fall semester we have three sessions placed throughout June and July.
Transfer Transition is a program intended to help transfer students with their transition into the university. Each university is different in the level of difficulty, operations, and expectations. Transfer Transition will give you the head start you need so you can begin your semester on day one. You will learn about the campus, location of buildings, the academic requirements, services the university offers, and some of the culture of the campus.
We encourage each of our transfer students to attend Transfer Transition. We have learned that those who do attend are much more comfortable with their new environment than their peers who do not. We understand that you have already been a freshmen once before. We want to give you the tools that you need to be successful at UWF.
