It is a requirement that all students attending New Student Orientation must stay overnight in Martin Hall. The cost for this overnight stay is part of the Orientation Registration charge. Students will be staying in a room in Martin Hall with a roommate.
If you are attending New Student Orientation with a friend and wish to room together then you will need to check-in to Orientation at the same time. This way the staff can put you in the same room. Due to the limited space and time staff will not be able to hold a space until the requested roommate checks-in.
The student will need to bring bedding, towels and toiletries with them when they come to orientation. The University will not be able to provide any of these articles. Also, please be sure to bring a change of clothes for the second day. We request a student not leave campus until orientation is complete on the end of the second day. Therefore, it is important students bring what they need when they arrive. Some of these articles are: pillow, sheets (for a twin size bed) or bedroll, blanket, towel, wash cloth, shampoo, soap, change of clothes, and comfortable shoes (we do a lot of walking during New Student Orientation). Also, be sure to bring close-toed shoes and comfortable clothes for the Recreation Center.
If you need to stay an extra night either before or after the session you may make arrangements by calling the Department of Housing and Residence Life at (850) 474-2463.
Lodging is not provided for Transfer as part of the Orientation cost. However, if you need to stay the night before or after the session on-campus housing can be arranged. There is a cost to this lodging. You will need to contact the Department of Residence Life at (850) 474-2463.
Lodging is not covered in the cost of Family Orientation. If you need a place to stay while in Pensacola you may wish to look into some of these options:
Department of Housing and Residence Life will be able to provide you with a room in one of the residence halls. This will be a separate building from where the students stay. You may make arrangements by calling (850) 474-2463.
