Thank you for registering for New Student Orientation at the University of West Florida.  This e-mail serves as your confirmation for the session you registered.  Please read the entire e-mail.  There is important information enclosed about orientation.  It may be helpful to print off and refer to as you have questions.

Orientation Session:

- Check-in will be from 8am - 845am in Martin Hall
- Orientation will end around 5pm on the second day
- Students are required to stay in the residence hall during the night of their session

We have two days PACKED of activities and information.  During Orientation, you will receive information about the various services on campus, meet other new students, meet current students at UWF, and learn about the various opportunities available to you.  As part of Orientation, you will see an academic advisor, build your schedule for your first semester at UWF, and register for classes.  Both days are full and will not conclude until around 5:00pm.  If you are making flight reservations you will need to make them for after that time.  The earliest you would be able to catch a flight out of Pensacola will be 6:00 p.m.

Directions:

To get to Martin Hall/Check-In:

- Take University Parkway into UWF. 
- Take a left at Campus Drive
- Follow Campus Drive for about 1.5 miles. 
- At the first stop light you will see Martin Hall in front of you on the right. 
- Follow the signs to Orientation Check-in.  We will hold check-in for New Student Orientation and  Parent Orientation at this location.

The University address is 11000 University Parkway, Pensacola, FL 32514 if you would like to use a web-based mapping system to find directions.

Items to bring:

• Pillow
• Sheets for a twin size bed
• Towel and wash cloth
• Clothes for the second day
• Close-Toed Shoes for the Gym Activites
• Comfortable shoes for walking (sneakers work best)
• Picture ID
• Toiletries
• Alarm Clock

Payment:

At this time you have made your reservations for orientation.  Your place is not held until full payment for orientation is received.  The university must receive your payment within fourteen days of registration for orientation.  If the university has not received your full payment by day fifteen, your reservation will be dropped.  If this takes place you will be required to re-register for orientation.  It is not a guarantee the session you wish to attend will still be available at the point of re-registration.  To avoid this please make full payment to orientation prior to the fourteen days.

Cancelation:

All cancelations must be done in writing.  You may submit those via e-mail to orientation@uwf.edu or you may send them by mail to Orientation, University of West Florida, 11000 University Parkway, Building 21 Room 130, Pensacola, FL 32514.

The cancelation policy is as follows:

• Cancellations made 30 or more days prior to the session all money will be refunded with the exception of $20.00
• Cancellations made 8-29 days prior to the session will be refunded with the exception of $40.00
• Cancellations made 7 or fewer days prior to the session are not eligable for a refund

Changes:

You may make changes to your orientation registration up to 14 days prior to the session you are registered via LightHouse. Between 14 days and the day of your session you must contact the Orientation Office by phone (850) 473-7229 or via e-mail at orientation@uwf.edu. These changes may include such things as needing to change session dates or adding a guest. There may be charges associated with certain changes. Please consult our web page on charges.

Registration Status:

You may check your registration status at any time by logging into LightHouse at https://nautical.uwf.edu/lighthouse//
Once in Lighthouse, click on Orientation Registration. Your registration receipt should come into view.

Family Orientation:

It is not required that your parents attend orientation. However, we do strongly encourage it. The Family Orientation will provide them with information which they will find helpful in assisting you with your transition into college life.
