Any student who is coming to the University of West Florida with less than 30 credit hours is REQUIRED to attend a Freshmen Orientation session. For students coming starting in January there is one session which takes place just prior to the semester beginning. If you are starting school at UWF in the summer there are two dates available depending on the summer session you are taking. If you are starting school at UWF in the Fall semester there are six sessions from you to chose. Dates for all sessions are listed on a separate page.
The purpose on New Student Orientation is to assist our students in their transition into the University of West Florida. We know that it is an exciting time for our students and at the same time it is also scary. Orientation will introduce you to the campus, the people, and the community so that you feel more at ease when you begin your semester.
During New Student Orientation you will learn about the academic requirements, be advised and register for your classes, meet current and new students, and meet faculty and staff who will help you during your time at the university. Orientation Leaders, which are current students at UWF, will help guide you through the session. Each of our sessions is full of information that will help you to be successful as a student. We hope that by the time you have completed orientation many of your questions have been answered.
