The Flexibility in the Workplace Task Force was created to examine options for improving work at home and other work flexibility options for Administrative Services staff and to develop a pilot program that might expand to the rest of the university as part of a climate sustainability initiative. After exploring resources to consider for the program, the task force created a Workplace Flexibility Program Manual. This program manual describes procedures that Administrative Services employees and managers may use in implementing flexible workplace options in their departments.
Two departments, Information Technology Services and Human Resources, participated in a pilot program. At the end of this period, each participant and the participant's manager were asked to complete assessment surveys to provide program feedback.
The Workplace Flexibility Program is now open to all departments in Administrative Services. Please note that there are many positions which by their nature require the physical presence of employees at the worksite which may limit certain options outlined in this program. All workplace flexibility privileges should accommodate departmental requirements.
