Annual Performance Evaluations for University Work Force Employees

The annual performance evaluation process is a method through which supervisors provide employees with feedback on their performance. An annual performance evaluation is completed on each University Work Force employee that you supervise. The evaluation period is January 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013. The deadline for submitting completed evaluations is Monday, September 30, 2013.

The evaluation review period has changed from calendar year to fiscal year (July through June). This will allow employees' achievements to be evaluated during the same cycle as the university's strategic plan. Employees will have objectives that are directly linked to the university's strategic plan and will be evaluated on the same cycle as the strategic plan, the fiscal year.

The evaluation start date for University Work Force employees was July 1, 2013. The review period for this evaluation is 18 months: January 1, 2012, through June 30, 2013. This 18-month review period will allow catch up to the new review period that corresponds with the university's fiscal year (July through June). Following review years will be 12-month and begin on July 1. The next review period will be July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2014. Employees and managers will have until September 30 each year to submit evaluations.

Please note that Position Orientation Year evaluations are a separate process and should be completed at the end of the employee’s first year at the university.

All evaluation documents are accessible electronically on the the Position, Performance, and Employment Management System (PPEMS) web site. An instruction sheet is also available on the web site. Employees begin the evaluation process by completing the employee self-evaluation and forwarding it to their supervisor. Upon receipt of the employee’s self-evaluation, supervisors complete the general performance and competencies forms. Objectives for the employee, which were set at the beginning of the evaluation period, are available with the on-line process. Please refer to these objectives when completing the employee performance evaluation.

During the performance evaluation meeting with the employee, objectives for next year’s evaluation are set with the employee and documented on the on-line objectives form.

Training for the performance evaluation will be offered on August 8, 2013.

Please register via the Reservation Desk or call 850-474-2694.

If you have questions, please contact LaBratta Epting at 850-474-2292 or Sharon Jones at 850-474-2611.
