UWF Family Weekend is a way to build school spirit among Argo students and families. All families of current UWF students are invited to visit campus for this special University-wide celebration.

Family Weekend 2018 is set for October 19-21! Football tickets are available through registration and will give you access to the Family Weekend Party Deck with food and non-alcoholic beverages. While the party deck does have seats, these tickets are standing room only and seating cannot be guaranteed.

Family Weekend Schedule

Friday, October 19th

Family Weekend Check-in

Time: 4:00 p.m - 6:00 p.m.

Location: Main Entrance of the University Commons, Parking Lot H

  • Pick-up your Family Weekend Packet during Family Weekend Check-In.  Family Weekend Packet includes: a schedule of events, Family Weekend passes, UWF swag, your football tickets (if previously purchased), and any additional information about the weekend. 

Workout at the Rec

Time: 6:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Location: UWF Recreation and Wellness

  • UWF students, parents, and families are able to utilize our state of the art Recreation and Wellness facility for a quick workout during Family Weekend.  Just just your Family Weekend pass!

Family Time with Student

Time: 4:00 p.m. - until

Location: On Your Own

  • UWF students, parents and families are encouraged to use this period to spend quality family time together, by visiting your student’s favorite spots both on and off campus.  Be sure to visit local businesses and restaurants within the Pensacola Community.

Gallery Night in Downtown Pensacola

Time: 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Location: Downtown Pensacola

  • One special Friday evening each month, the streets of Historic Downtown Pensacola come alive for Gallery Night.  Galleries, boutiques, restaurants, and bars open their doors to the night air as visitors and locals flood the streets to enjoy music, art and cuisine. Café tables set out on brick sidewalks are the perfect place to enjoy a coffee or cocktail, as the sounds of live music and a spirited crowd fill the air. Families linger in the downtown parks, playing around the beautiful fountains and historic oaks.  UWF students, parents and families are more than welcome to take advantage of this free event!

Saturday, October 20th

Workout at the Rec

Time: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Location: UWF Recreation and Wellness

  • UWF students, parents, and families are able to utilize our state of the art Recreation and Wellness facility for a quick workout during Family Weekend.  Just just your Family Weekend pass!

Argo Family Welcome Brunch

Time: Starting at 10:30 a.m.

Location: Nick's Boathouse, 455 W Main Street, Pensacola, FL 32505

  • Join us for the Family Weekend Brunch sponsored and hosted by the Office of Family Programs. Come and enjoy a beautiful view of Pensacola Bay, brunch, and visit with representatives from various UWF departments.  

Argo Family Tailgate Area

Time: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Student Tailgate Area at Wahoo Stadium

  • The Office of Family Programs will host an Information Tent with water for all Family Weekend participants.  In addition, if you would like to bring your own chairs or tailgate supplies we will have available space next to the Information Tent.

"Yee Yee Tailgate Party Concert" featuring Granger Smith

Time: 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Regular Tailgate Area at Wahoo Stadium

  • Granger Smith has offered to donate a special powered acoustic performance to help raise funds for Hurricane Michael Relief.  UWF is partnering with Cat Country 98.7 and the Wahoo Stadium to have a "Yee Yee Tailgate Party" featuring Granger Smith starting at 3:00 p.m.  If you would like, feel free to bring a donation for the Florida Disaster Fund.

UWF Argonauts vs. Florida Tech Panthers

Time: Gates open at 2:00 p.m., Gametime at 4:00 p.m.

Location: Blue Wahoos Stadium

  • For families who decide to purchase the football tickets the gates will open at 2:00 p.m.  Participants will have access to the Family Weekend Party Deck with food and non-alcoholic beverages.  While the party deck does have seats, these tickets are standing room only and seating cannot be guaranteed.

What is the registration fee and what does it include?

Cost of registration includes your meal, your student's meal, free admission to UWF facilities, downtown properties, and athletic events (excluding football). 

Registration costs: 

Adults: $50

Parent and Family Association Members: $40

Children under 12: $15

Children under 2: Free

 

 

Are refunds available?

All fees associated with Family Weekend are non-refundable, so be sure to carefully review the Family Weekend schedule and pricing to inform your decision before making your reservations. 

How do I get to campus?

Driving from Interstate 10

Take Exit 13 (Davis Highway) and go north. Follow the signs to University Parkway. Turn left onto University Parkway. Follow University Parkway until it comes to a dead end. The dead end puts you at Campus Drive. Turn left onto Campus Drive and follow the Family Weekend signs.

Driving from Highway 90

Turn onto Campus Drive from Highway 90 and follow the Family Weekend signs.

Air Travel

Commercial air travel is available in Pensacola through the Pensacola International Airport (PNS). We are unable to pick up students, parents or families from the airport due to insurance and liability concerns. We encourage you to either contact a local taxi service or make other travel arrangements before arriving to campus. 

Where can I park on campus?

Family Weekend Parking Passes will be included in your Family Weekend confirmation e-mail. Please print and display your Family Weekend parking pass in the dashboard of your vehicle. Information regarding where to park will also be included in your confirmation e-mail.
