University of West Florida has established research institutes and centers to focus on particular areas of study and to foster research collaborations. The following research institutes and centers are officially included in the Florida Board of Governors' Inventory.

Florida Small Business Development Center Network - State Office (Florida SBDC State Office)
Florida SBDC Network delivers, through certified professionals, consulting, training and information to help businesses succeed and create positive impact for the Florida economy, while providing value for our stakeholders.

Archaeology Institute
The Archaeology Institute at UWF is an educational, research and service facility concerned with the prehistoric and historic archaeological resources of the northwest Florida region.
Center for Applied Psychology (CAP)
CAP is a consulting group within the School of Psychological and Behavioral Sciences. CAP's aim is the optimization of human performance across the lifespan in educational, health, and workplace contexts.
Center for Environmental Diagnostics and Bioremediation (CEDB)
CEDB reflects a fundamental emphasis on modern biological research as applied to environmental systems and provides a vital program of research and education.
Center on Aging
COA's mission is to improve the quality of life of aging adults through the application of science to address challenges associated with aging and to promote healthy aging, with an emphasis on prevention.
Community Outreach Research and Learning Center (CORAL)
The CORAL Center is a multifunctional facility devoted to performing high-quality research and evaluation studies.
Florida-China Linkage Institute
The FCLI provides a broad range of services to the local community and university students, including out-of-state waivers, Conference for Chinese Studies, and trade show and industry information.

The FJLI works toward strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation between the people of Florida and Japan through the promotion of educational, cultural, economic and policy relations.
Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN)
The Florida Public Archaeology Network's mission is to promote and facilitate the conservation, study and public understanding of Florida's archaeological heritage through regional centers, each of which has its own website.
Haas Center for Business Research and Economic Development (CBRED)
The Haas Center is a research and consulting arm of UWF that engages in applied research and strategy development in economics, and across the social sciences.
Institute for Innovative Community Learning (ICL)
ICL supports community learning through partnerships. Our purpose is to promote student achievement, professional growth of educators, and parental involvement.
UWF Small Business Development Center (UWF SBDC)
UWF SBDC is a non-profit network of college and university-based centers providing entrepreneurs with high quality one-on-one consulting, management training, and vital information they need to grow and prosper in a complex and competitive global environment.
