The purpose of the UWF Running Club is for UWF students to come together to run in a safe environment, while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

Group Run

Every Monday and Friday at 5:45 p.m. starting at the Water Tower in Parking Lot B. 

Coach

The UWF Running Club is proud to have a running coach. He is none other than Stephen LeMay. He is here to help the running club members to work on their running form, pace, and distance. He can be contacted by email: slemay@uwf.edu.

Club Trips

We normally have a fall and spring semester trip where we travel together and compete in a race. In Spring 2014, we went to Rock N Fly Half Marathon & 5k. In Fall 2014, we went to Pensacola Beach Glow Run. So far, the club trips have been in Pensacola and Louisiana.

Volunteering

We volunteer at local races by handing out water to runners and helping race directors prepare for events. We have volunteered for the Pensacola Marathon, Pensacola Beach Glow Run, and Gulf Coast Stampede.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How many miles do we run?
    • Ans. It depends. Some members are marathon runners and some members are not. We run between 2-8 miles during practices. We are flexible with our running distance.
    • What pace do we normally run at?
      • Ans. It depends. Some members run at 6-8 minute miles while some members run 9-11 minute miles. We run as a group and will adjust our paces accordingly if needed.
