Group Fitness Class Descriptions

This page provides descriptions for terms used on the Group Fitness Class Schedules.


Abs Class (level 1-3): A group fitness class that targets the abs. This class offers innovative exercises designed to strengthen the abdominal, oblique, and lower back muscles. It is an ideal addition to another class, or can be taken alone.

AcroYoga (level 1-3): A thrilling physical practice that combines aspects of acrobatics and yoga. AcroYoga is usually performed with a team of two people (a flyer and a base) and provides elements of trust, balance, concentration and strength building. Come explore the many benefits of moving your body through space! The instructors will provide guidance and explain the basic concepts as well as how to perform safety spotting.

Aqua Cycle (level 1-2): A cycling experience in 4’ of water that harminously pairs the challenge of cardiovascular exercise and full-body toning with the natural healing properties of water. The pressure of water speeds up blood circulation, making your body a lean fat-burning machine.

Bikram Yoga (level 1-3): A full body sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises for beginners to advanced practitioners. Postures promote strength and flexibility while fostering deeper levels of concentration. Recommended for anyone who wants to strengthen and balance their mind and body while developing a strong foundation.

Boot Camp (Level 1-3): A fun filled, high intensity class that incorporates weights and cardio. You will get the most out of this hour and meet new people who love fitness just like you.

Buns n Guns (Level 1-3): A fun, high-energy body sculpting class meant for all levels of fitness. Be ready to squat lunge and curl in this total body class that emphasizes glutes and biceps. Perhaps the most intriguing of all muscle groups?

Core Cycle (level 1-3): A combination of spin, abs, and strength training - giving you a total body workout that ensures you burn calories and build muscle every class. Simple, effective, and you control the intensity. It’s up to you to find and push your limits, so come to Core Cycle and show you what you got!

Insane Cycle (level 2-3): This is a high-intensity cycle class with guaranteed results. You’ll be challenged, burn a ton of calories, and have a great time!

Jiu Jitsu (level 1-3): Keep safe, have fun, learn martial arts, and get in physical shape while staying within your comfort zone. Learn skills that will serve you a lifetime. A great sport, which can be applied in everyday life situations.

Kickboxing (level 1-3): Learn a variety of kickboxing moves and combine them for a fantastic work out. You will learn proper form, have fun, and burn a ton of calories. Come check out kickboxing for a great sweat!

Meditation Hour (level 1): Practice the art of meditation & learn to use meditation to manage stress. Previous studies have linked meditation to benefits such as improved attention, memory, processing speed, creativity, and more. Treat your mind and body in this class, a great way to welcome your weekend.

Pound (Level 1-3): The POUND workout fuses cardio interval training with drumming to provide a challenging, heart-pumping workout. POUND offers a full-body workout and targets common trouble spots. A huge part of the class is performed in a squat position. The constant up-and-down drumming targets your inner and outer thighs, butt, and core. And those drumsticks aren't just for show; at one-fourth pound per stick and a little shorter than the standard length, they're perfectly designed to maximize your arm workout.

Power Yoga (Level 1-3): Bring your friends and prepare to challenge yourself in power yoga. Based on building strength and holding poses for a longer duration, this upbeat tempo and fun practice is not your typical yoga class. While we will provide many variations and options to make this class suitable for multiple levels, this class may not be as beginner friendly as our other yoga offerings.

Slow Flow Yoga (Level 1-3): Slow flow yoga is a Saturday morning class meant to cleanse your mind of any stressors and challenge your body. This class focuses on breathing and working through poses to improve mental processing, flexibility, and end your week on a good note.

Smash Class (Level 1-3): Smash class is a one of a kind stress relieving class that helps reduce stress and improves overall well-being. Smash class incorporates circuit style training that will help you relieve stress after a long day and get a workout in at the same time.

Spinnerval (level 1-3): A high intensity cycle class paired with weight intervals for an awesome total body workout.

SUP Yoga (level 1-3): Do you love to paddle board? Have you taken a yoga class before? Why not combine the two and get an amazing core, stability, and strength workout. This lighthearted class is a sure fire way to relieve stress and have a ton of fun. With only nine paddle boards available this class will fill up fast, make sure you arrive early and receive a number from the Aquatics attendant.

Yoga Abs (level 1-3): Get abs like a yogi in this non-traditional core workout! Expect no ordinary crunches here. We will light up the core muscles with yoga-inspired exercises that will help to cultivate a super strong core. Though there will be an emphasis on the abdominals, the core also includes the back, glutes, and muscles of the hip. Be prepared to work hard, be sore, and get stronger! This short morning class is packed with plenty of work to make the most of your time and kickstart a productive day.

Zumba (level 1-3): Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and international dance movements, creating a dynamic and effective fitness program. It’s a blast! It’s different! It’s easy! It’s effective!

  • Level 1: For those who are new to Group Fitness programs and/or exercise programs.
  • Level 2: For those who are familiar with Group Fitness programs and have some experience with exercise programs.
  • Level 3: For those who are active in Group Fitness programs and are currently involved in an exercise program.
