Summer Leadership Series
|Primary Type of HIP||Collaborative Assignment/Project|
|Deliverable||Speeches, written reflections, presentations, and reports|
A joint venture between University Commons & Student Involvement and the Student Government Association. Student leaders from these offices will develop communication skills vital for success in their life outside the classroom. In addition to emphasizing the characteristics of effective communication, students will also be challenged to articulate how these skills can impact their ability to create positive change for their organizations and UWF.
Participants will meet weekly for interactive education on the following topics: Professional communication, public speaking, communication with diverse audiences, communication ethics and values, personal and organizational image, conflict communication, and communicating the common purpose. Students will also receive feedback on their progress, engage in challenging tasks, and reflect on the leader they are becoming.
