This combined class will compete in the American Advertising Federation’s esteemed National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) program during the spring 2015 semester. Both advertising and public relations majors will have the opportunity to collaborate on a truly integrated communications campaign. Teams will create a fully executable campaign for a national client (Pizza Hut) - complete with a detailed plan book and pitch presentation.

Students must research the product and its competition, identify potential problem areas and devise a completely integrated communications campaign plan book for the client including creative deliverables. Each student team then "pitches" its campaign to a panel of judges during three rounds of competition: district, semi-finals and finals.

The project reflects communication skills needed for success in a real-world setting. In addition, students are able to effectively leverage their participation in the NSAC due to its brand recognition by advertising and public relations professionals when they begin searching for jobs and internships.
