Parent & Family Orientation
Parents & Families with FTIC Students
FTIC students must attend an on-campus orientation session. Lunch will be included, along with coffee and danishes during morning check-in. The last orientation session for Spring 2015 students is Monday, January 5th. Students must register and pay for orientation on MyUWF. Directions: Go to MyUWF, log in using your UWF ID #, search and click Orientation Registration for Undergraduate Students, select your admittance semester (ex. Spring 2015) and complete the reservation. Please note that we do not offer a sibling program during orientation. If siblings attend, their lunch will need to be paid out of pocket.
Orientation registration is only open to students starting in Spring 2015 currently. Orientation registration for students starting in Summer/Fall 2015 will open in mid-February. More information will be available in January.
How do I register for Family Orientation?
If you plan to attend orientation, you must register on your student's application in MyUWF under Guests. Guests can be parents, family members and/or siblings. There is an additional fee for parents and family members. Please note that we do not offer a sibling program during orientation. If siblings attend, their lunch will need to be paid out of pocket.
Parents & Families with Transfer Students
Transfer Orientation is an optional (but highly encouraged) next step for your enrollment at the University of West Florida. UWF offers a variety of orientation options, including face-to-face or online, that provide you with an opportunity to connect with your academic advisor, learn about UWF and receive the information necessary to successfully transition to UWF. You may choose to complete the online program and finish up face-to-face during our Transfer Express half-day program or the online-only option and contact your advisor to discuss registration and course selection options at the following link: http://uwf.edu/admissions/undergraduate/contact-us/academic-advising-directory/
UWF's Transfer Student Orientation options include:
Online Orientation and Transfer Express
Cost - $60 ($10 is included in this fee for your Nautilus ID Card.) The Transfer Express program includes a campus welcome, visit to the Nautilus ID Card Office and a meeting with your Academic Advisor in your College of study. You may also take care of any other business while you are on campus. Transfer Express will be held on January 5, 2015, 8 a.m.-12 Noon.
Online Orientation ONLY
Cost - $50
We suggest you contact and meet with your Academic Advisor as soon as possible to discuss your course selection options. This can be done at any time after you have confirmed your acceptance to UWF.
