The Kugelman Honors Program participates in three Honors conferences a year. These conferences provide students the opportunity to present their thesis or other original research, as well as connect to the broader Honors community.
Honors conferences are exciting events that allow students to present Honors-related research and learn about the research and activities of other Honors students, programs, and colleges.
At the conferences, students engage in the broader Honors community while developing presentation, networking, and time management skills.
What Can You Present?
At Honors conferences, students can present on anything Honors-related, including their thesis, research or projects completed in Honors courses, Honors Council events, or the Honors Living and Learning Community.
Depending on the conference, students have multiple options for the type of presentation they can develop. Common options include presenting a lecture-style presentation, research poster, or conducting a round table session or workshop.
When Can You Present?
Kugelman Honors students are required to present their thesis at an Honors conference, a conference within their major discipline, or at UWF's Student Scholar Symposium, which is held each spring. Completion of a student's thesis takes place toward the end of their time as an undergraduate.
Honors students are also encouraged to apply to present original research conducted in an Honors course, artwork, or other Honors experiences (leadership, mentoring, etc.) at the conferences at any point.
