Faculty Opportunities Abroad
Faculty have many opportunities to connect with colleagues abroad. Open positions for teaching abroad may be available at partner institutions. UWF Study Abroad provides Faculty-led Program development assistance. International grants and other funding resources are also available.
Opportunities For Faculty Outside of the US
Study Abroad Services extend to faculty and staff, as well. When a faculty member plans a study abroad program, UWF Study Abroad is here to help with program planning, budgeting, registrar relations, transcript services and risk management.
In an increasingly international environment, the impact of Study Abroad reaches far beyond those who travel. When a professor shares an international perspective with her class, when a student describes another culture’s customs to his roommate – when the campus is globalized by international experience – everyone’s horizon grows a little wider.
In addition to leading a faculty-led program abroad and visiting international partner institutions, openings may be available for faculty exchange or guest lecturing at institutions outside of the US. Here are a few examples of placement which may be available.
- Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences (Finland) offers a summer term each year at which UWF has often had professors visit to teach a 3-week course in Business or Computer Science.
- Lingnan University in Hong Kong holds a 6-week summer program annually which is open across many disciplines.
Guest and visiting lecturer openings may be available during the fall or spring semesters in addition to summer school options. Compensation and travel expense inclusions vary by host institution.
For more information on opportunities to guest lecture or teach abroad at one of UWF's partner institutions, please contact UWF Study Abroad at email@example.com. Be sure to include your name, department at UWF and area of expertise.
Faculty interested in applying for funding for international scholarly activities including research, collaboration, curriculum development and more should review the funding information available under Resources.
