The Catalyst Program

The Catalyst is a mobile-classroom study abroad program that uses London, Paris, Berlin and Prague as its teaching sites over the course of five weeks each summer. The Catalyst is an active learning program that is divided into two sessions.  Each student participates in both the London/Paris and the Berlin/Prague sessions, taking a different course for three credits in each session.  Very little of the program’s instruction is done in traditional classrooms. Instead, learning is done in museums, parks, cafes, corporate sites and historically important settings, where program faculty and guest lecturers teach students how to make telling connections between course material and context.

The Village Program

The Village is a mobile classroom study-abroad program that uses a small village in France’s Loire Valley, Paris, London and Barcelona as its teaching sites over the course of a twelve week semester each fall. The program is designed for academic sophomores and above and offers courses in STEM, Business, Humanities, and the Fine Arts. French and Spanish are also offered at all levels. The Village is an active learning program that is delivered in three European countries. We start in a small town in France for the month of September. Then the month of October is devoted to 2 weeks of Independent Travel (which we call VisionQUEST on The Village) and our academic module called Journey, during which students focus on a single course that’s taught for a week in Paris and then a week in London. Finally we take November for a month in Barcelona, Spain, where we finish all of our Village courses.
