Photography

Photography is one of the most widely-used and influential brand assets. It helps to communicate our stories in an authentic way and has the power to transform the way people perceive the University. Institutional Communications’ top priority is to shoot photography that enhances the institution’s brand.

Photo Library

Institutional Communications provides an extensive selection of photos for the University of West Florida community and general public in the UWF Photo Library

Third parties who wish to publish photography from the UWF Photo Library must contact Institutional Communications for permission beforehand and must credit the University of West Florida.

For questions regarding the UWF Photo Library, please contact Institutional Communications at brand@uwf.edu.

Photography Requests

Whether obtaining an image from the UWF photo library or facilitating a photo shoot, photography should accurately enhance the story you’re trying to tell, draw people in and make them want to know more. The University photographer may be available to shoot campus activities and events, however, photography requests should be made as early as possible so that we may evaluate the request.

To submit a request, please fill out the Photography Request Form. Due to the growing needs of the University, not all requests can be honored. Institutional Communication currently has one full-time photographer whose primary role is to create assets that differentiate the UWF brand.

For more information about shooting digital images on your own, please review the Photography Tips Sheet. To schedule training or to learn more, please contact Institutional Communications at brand@uwf.edu.

University Headshots

For information about official University headshots for faculty and staff or to request a time slot for a headshot, please visit the Request a Headshot webpage (MyUWF faculty/staff login credentials required). Headshot sessions must be scheduled in advance through the appointment calendar.

Unfortunately, Institutional Communications cannot offer this headshot service to students at this time.

Photo/Video Release Policy

UWF’s photo/video release policy establishes the procedures related to the use of photography and video that depicts campus life, events, ceremonies and other University activities. Before taking photos or video on behalf of UWF, please carefully review the resources available through the UWF Brand Portal, including the official photo/video release policy, release forms and best practices.
