Overview of ITS Workgroups
Below is a description of each of the five ITS workgroups.
IT Operations includes daily operation and support of the information technology environment. IT Operations is comprised of three support teams. The ITS Help Desk is the first point of contact for IT questions and requests for service, providing phone, email, chat, and desktop support. Networks & Telecommunications provides wired and wireless data connectivity as well as voice connectivity and related services for campus and remote sites. Academic and Instructional Technology Services provides instructional technology, student computer labs, hardware repair, and IT communications.
System Integration Architecture
The Information Systems Architecture workgroup develops and supports UWF's online applications.
Enterprise Applications is responsible for the business and information systems supporting the operational needs of the university and all application development regardless of computing platform. Enterprise Applications is comprised of two support teams. The Student Systems Administration workgroup develops and supports UWF student systems including admissions, registration, cashiers, and grades. The Banner & Oracle Database Administration workgroup develops and supports the Banner ERP and Banner Self-Service systems.
Infrastructure Services provides information technology infrastructure (such as networks and servers) and system security. Infrastructure Services is responsible for all servers and enterprise systems residing in the UWF data center, as well as the data residing in the remote data vaulting facility, and provides central storage capabilities, manages hosted servers and systems, and provides the platform for systems integration and security.
Business Intelligence and Process Automation
Business Intelligence and Process Automation provides data management and information delivery with clear and measurable outcomes supporting UWF's strategic plans and goals.
