Homecoming is a weeklong celebration of campus life, students, faculty, staff and alumni of the University of West Florida. Each year, we promote Argo pride with events, competitions, activities and athletics, and celebrate all that is UWF!

Homecoming Schedule

Get ready for an incredible week! Homecoming 2016 takes place Oct. 17-22 and includes Argo traditions like Cannon Fest and the Cardboard Boat Race, plus new events for our inaugural football season. Celebrate the week with your fellow Argos, and be sure to join us for the game-day extravaganza in downtown Pensacola. Go, Argos!

Important Info

Current students should bring an active Nautilus Card to all Homecoming events. Some events require tickets. Check out the schedule for event details and our FAQ to learn more about Homecoming.

Monday, Oct. 17: Transform the Campus
Transform the Campus

On the first day of Homecoming, we cover the campus in blue and green. Show your Argo Pride by wearing your Argonaut gear, and post about #UWFHomecoming on social media to celebrate that Homecoming's here! Check out Golden Fleece contestants' window paintings, giant banners and twinkle lights at night! Look for Team Homecoming around campus to get your Homecoming 2016 swag. 

Tuesday, Oct. 18: Cannon Fest
Cannon Fest

When: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Where: Cannon Green

This daytime picnic event on the Cannon Green is a favorite of the UWF community. Hang out with your friends, professors and staff listen to music, enjoy lunch and celebrate UWF on the Cannon Green, a special space with rich UWF history. This event includes barbecue, novelties, competitions, guest speakers and UWF Athletics!

Wednesday, Oct. 19: Concert
Homecoming Concert

When: 9 p.m. (doors at 8 p.m.)
Where: Field House

Dance the night away at UWF’s biggest concert event of the year! This event is ticketed. Tickets are FREE for current UWF students and will be available at the Commons Service Desk & Ticket Center in October. No bags (handbags, backpacks, etc.), alcohol, weapons, vidoegraphy or flash photography will be permitted at this event. Stay tuned for this year's artist reveal! 

Thursday, Oct. 20: Cardboard Boat Race
Cardboard Boat Race

When: 8:30 p.m.
Where: Aquatic Center

Teams participating in the Golden Fleece Challenge create boats made out of only cardboard, liquid nails and duct tape. Captains paddle their boats across the pool in hopes of being the fastest Argo in the water — or at least in hopes of not sinking! Students will compete for first-fifth place before the faculty/staff teams compete. Then all boats left floating will race again for the final chance at ultimate cardboard boat victory!

Friday, Oct. 21: Soccer and Volleyball Games

UWF Soccer vs. Alabama Huntsville 

When: 5 p.m. women's, 7:30 p.m. men's
Where: Soccer Complex

Attend for the chance to win a Homecoming football game-day prize package! 

UWF Volleyball vs. West Georgia

When: 6 p.m.
Where: Field House

Students attending the match will earn triple Argo Armada points.

Saturday, Oct. 22: Football, Tailgate and More!

Football Tailgate

When: 8 a.m.
Where: Community Maritime Park

Argowalk

When: 9:45 a.m.
Where: Blue Wahoos Stadium, West Entrance at Devilliers St.

Gather to cheer on the Argos as they enter the stadium.

UWF Football vs. Shorter

When: noon
Where: Blue Wahoos Stadium

Homecoming Court presentation and Golden Fleece Challenge winners announced at halftime. This event is ticketed.

UWF Volleyball vs. West Alabama

When: 4 p.m.
Where: Field House

UWF Volleyball vs. Spring Hill

When: 8 p.m.
Where: Field House
