Blackboard Collaborate Online Classroom

Blackboard Collaborate is UWF's online classroom that allows instructors to conduct classes, hold online office hours, and collaborate with students over the Internet. Blackboard Collaborate incorporates audio, video, and impressive online tools to simulate a traditional class setting.


The Blackboard Collaborate Online Classroom is available from eLearning & Collaborate Resources or Collaborate Session Management in MyUWF.

Prepare Your Computer

At least one hour before your session, check your computer's system requirements (Win & MAC), test your connection, and configure your audio. To check your computer, click Blackboard Collaborate web conferencing under First Time Users. Complete Steps 1-2 on-screen instructions.

Instructors using Blackboard Collaborate must have speakers or headphones and a microphone.
Students must have computer speakers or headphones. A microphone is recommended. Webcams are optional.

    Before Your First Session
  1. View Participants Orientation Video
  2. Make sure your speakers (or headphones) are properly connected to your computer.
