When do I need to meet with my advisor?
You will meet with an advisor at Orientation to set up your course schedule for Fall. Later in the Fall you will again meet with your advisor to set up your Spring schedule. You are encouraged to meet with your advisor during the semester if you have questions.
What is an PIN? And why do I need one?
An advising PIN is required to process and finalize your class registration. Similar to a PIN you would use to access your bank account at an ATM, PIN stands for Personal Identification Number.
Your advising PIN must be released by your academic advisor. You will need to see your advisor to discuss your schedule for the upcoming term before your advisor will release your PIN. Once you have met with your advisor, your PIN will be released and will be valid through the drop/add period for the next term.

How do I set up an appointment?
Stop by our office (bldg 18, room 150) anytime between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday to schedule an appointment. You may also schedule an appointment over the phone by calling 474-3170.
Do you take walk-in appointments?
That can depend on how busy our office is. We highly recommend making an appointment to be sure that your advisor will be available.
What if I decide to declare or change my major?
There is a major/minor change form available at the Advising Center (bldg 18, room 150) or at the Registrar's Office website on the Forms page. If you have questions concerning your new major, you are encouraged to schedule an appointment with your advisor.
When you have completed the form, you may submit it to the Registrar's Office in building 18 on the Pensacola Campus.
How can I change my class schedule after the semester has started?
Drop/Add period (1st week of semester):
You will be able to drop or add courses through MyUWF. Please consult with your advisor before doing so.
After the 1st week:
You will be able to withdraw from individual courses up until the 11th week of the semester. You can withdraw from the course through MyUWF or through the Office of the Registrar. You will be unable to add any additional courses to your schedule.
Why should I log into MyUWF?
The advisors use your information in MyUWF to get in contact with you. Once the semester has started, make sure to do the following:
-change your mailing address to your current address at college (Address change forms are available in the Office of the Registrar, Building 18 on the Pensacola campus, at the UWF Emerald Coast-Fort Walton Beach campus, or any of the centers. You can also submit a change request online through MyUWF in the Personal Information Folder.)
-provide a current phone number that we can use to get in touch with you
-check your UWF email regularly OR forward your other email accounts to UWF

Email is UWF's official mode of contact with students! The First Year Advising Center will send emails throughout the semester regarding important deadlines and registration.
