We have several student organization at the UWF Emerald Coast.

Emerald Coast Student Government Association (SGA)

The Student Government Association (SGA) is a student organization elected by you, the students, to represent the University of West Florida's Emerald Coast. SGA is committed to understanding the needs of the students and to ensure that their future at the University of West Florida's Emerald Coast is a stellar experience.

There is a continuous effort among students, faculty, and administration to help ensure that a positive university experience is maintained for all parties concerned. SGA Emerald Coast plays an intricate role and influences the university's decision-making process by serving as a liaison between the students and governing bodies.

Criminal Justice Student Organization (CJSO)

To provide students interested in Criminal Justice the opportunity to broaden ones knowledge of Criminal Justice, prepare for a career through professional development, give back to the community, and build contacts in the Criminal Justice field through networking.

Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE)

The FWB student branch of the Institute of Electrical and electronics Engineers (IEEE) provides a great opportunity for its members to meet and learn from students, faculty, and professionals in the area of engineering. The FWB student branch has been active for over 10 months in which it has held meetings with members of the engineering community including Eglin AFB and private engineering firms. The branch holds regular meetings to discuss IEEE related topics. The branch also organizes extra curricular activities such as canoe trips to Blackwater River in Northwest Florida. The branch maintains contact with the professional North West Florida IEEE Chapter.

Alpha Sigma Lambda - Delta Lambda Chapter

Alpha Sigma Lambda's purpose is to recognize academic achievements of students who face competing interests at home, work, and school.

ASL is an honor society for students who meet the following requirements:

  • enrolled in less than 12 hours
  • completed 30-39 semester hours at the 3000/4000 level
  • have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.35 or greater
  • not yet earned a Bachelor degree or higher

Academic regalia may purchased and worn at graduation. 

Official Alpha Sigma Lambda
