Pre-Masters Practicum Student | Counseling & Psychological Services | (850) 474-2420
I am currently in the final phase of the master’s degree in psychology program here at UWF. This includes a practicum/internship sequence, since my focus is on counseling. I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to be at UWF’s Counseling & Psychological Services during this time and I am very excited to work with the diverse student population on our campus. I have previous experience working with adolescents in a mental health setting during my time as an undergrad student at Muhlenberg College. My areas of interest include trauma and its aftereffects, especially with regard to the military population.
When providing therapy, my goal is to create an environment where clients feel comfortable and supported in sharing what’s been troubling them. I strive to instill hope and confidence in clients, in order to help them see that they are worthwhile individuals who are capable of making changes in their lives. I also aim to see the many facets of clients, as well as the environmental, situational, and social contexts in which they live.
