Keya Wiggins, Ph.D., CGP
Licensed Psychologist, Certified Group Psychotherapist, Group Therapy Program Coordinator | Counseling & Psychological Services | (850) 474-2420
I’ve been a member of the CAPS team since 2011, and I currently serve as the coordinator of the group therapy program at CAPS. My professional interests include group therapy, relationships, and African American mental health. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a Master's degree in Community Agency Counseling from Auburn University, and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Indiana State University. I am also a Certified Group Psychotherapist.
Prior to coming to UWF, my clinical experiences included college counseling, community agency, and residential settings. I started working with college students in 2008, and I feel energized when working with students. My approach to clinical work is very egalitarian. I view students as the expert of their own experiences, and I enjoy assisting them in making sense of their interpretations of those experiences with the use of theory and techniques.
