Here is a quick overview for those of you who have never participated or need a refresher for the Spring 2015 Commencement ceremony held Saturday, May, 2, 2015 at the Pensacola Bay Center, 201 East Gregory Street, downtown Pensacola.

You would be responsible for one of the following duties beginning at 9:00am (before, during, and/or after the ceremony): get students lined up in their correct spots in the tunnels, hand out programs to guests on the third floor, greet specialty guests and escort to seating area, help special needs guests out of vehicles and escort to the front entrance to access the elevator, direct students around the outside and back of the Bay Center for seating line-up, hold direction signage out front of the bay Center, help with set up and/or break down (stage), help with faculty line up and/or platform party, direct students to elevator on third floor who are coming up the back ramps, have guests escorted toward seats, show them bathroom locations, help pass out programs to lined up students, help students with caps, gowns, bandages, tassels, basically anything you can think of that might happen during line-up.... among other duties. You will not be overwhelmed with more than one responsibility before or during the ceremony. You would be done no later than 12:30pm. At the end of your shift, you would return to the second floor meeting room to sign-out and collect any belongings you may have left. If you are staying for both ceremonies (you will receive a free lunch in between ceremonies) and the following instructions would apply to you as well.
