Volunteering at Commencement - Spring 2014

Grateful Volunteers,

I am glad you are considering joining in on the festivities involved with Commencement! Here is a quick overview for those of you who have never participated or need a refresher for the Spring 2014 Commencement held Saturday, May 3rd, 2014 at the Pensacola Bay Center, 201 East Gregory Street:

If you were to volunteer at the morning ceremony, you would need to be at the Bay Center by 7:45am and would be responsible for one of the following duties (before, during, and/or after) to either get students lined up in their correct spots, hand out programs to guests, greet specialty guests, direct students around the outside of the Bay Center, help with set up and/or break down (stage), help with faculty line up and/or platform party, direct students to elevators, guests towards seats, bathroom locations, helping pass out programs to lined up students, helping students with caps, bandages, anything you can think of that might happen.... among other duties. You will not be overwhelmed with more than one responsibility before or during the ceremony. You would be done by 12:30pm. If you are staying for both ceremonies (you will receive a free lunch in between ceremonies) and the following instructions would apply to you as well.

If you were to volunteer at the afternoon ceremony, you would need to be at the Bay Center by 12:30pm and would be responsible for one of the following duties (before, during, and/or after) to either get students lined up in their correct spots, hand out programs to guests, greet specialty guests, direct students around the outside of the Bay Center, help with set up and/or break down (stage), help with faculty line up and/or platform party, direct students to elevators, guests towards seats, bathroom locations, helping pass out programs to lined up students, helping students with caps, bandages, anything you can think of that might happen.... among other duties. You will not be overwhelmed with more than one responsibility before or during the ceremony. And you would be done no later than 4:30pm.

It actually is really fun! I love seeing the excited students and their overjoyed parents from the stands. To volunteer, sign up using the Link at the top of this page.
