What do you enjoy most about being an academic advisor?

Having the opportunity to assist students with important decisions that impact their present and future goals. Being an academic advisor touches all aspects of students’ lives, not just the academic side.

What is the best advice you ever received, who gave it?

Work hard now, so you have more time and resources to play and enjoy life to the fullest later. This advice came from my father, George Preyear (firm, but lovable and fair educator).

What is one surprising thing about you that not many people know?

I’ve never flown on an airplane! I’m actually afraid of flying, but I want to be a contestant on Family Feud (my favorite gameshow), so I’m willing to fly if selected as a contestant.
