What do you enjoy most about being an academic advisor?
Throughout my career in academic advising, my favorite part of my role has been building relationships with my students and getting to know what amazing things they are going to do to make the world a better place. Whether it is a small or grand plan, it is exciting to see what each individual is going to do with their life, and in turn how they will impact our community and world. I also enjoy helping both students and family members navigate the college experience, and for students specifically, the transition to owning their educational experience and being successful throughout their time in college.
What is the best advice you ever received, who gave it?
“Keep Moving Forward” –Walt Disney
What is one surprising thing about you that not many people know?
I am an adventure seeker who is also terrified of heights! I like to challenge myself and try new things. I have been sky diving, bungee jumping, and parasailing. I really want to go zip-lining next.
What are your favorite activities outside of work?
Go to the beach and kayak or paddle board, or go on adventures with my pup Max (he is an awesome schnauzer).
