Argo Arrival is an annual tradition that celebrates the start of the school year for new and returning students. Argos discover the Pensacola area through on- and off-campus events and explore opportunities to express their interests and make new connections.
Argo Arrival begins on Friday, Aug. 19, 2016 — also known as Resident Move-In Day. Students must bring an active Nautilus Card to Argo Arrival events. Celebrate your arrival on social media by using #ArgoArrival.
When: Friday, Aug. 19, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Doors open at 3 p.m.
Where: Field House
Join fellow students, families, staff and faculty for the official kickoff of the academic year. Hear from UWF administrators and the SGA president as they share more about the values of UWF. You won't want to miss this great tradition. First-year students will also receive Convocation medallions, which they will keep to wear at Commencement. Students must present a valid Nautilus Card. Where: Target Shopping Center, Nine Mile Road and University Parkway
Buses schedule: 10, 10:30 and 11 p.m. from Pace/Argo, Martin Hall and Village East | Buses return students to campus starting at 11 p.m.
Join us for this exclusive event just for UWF students, faculty and staff. This event will feature special discounts and deals, giveaways and a photo booth, plus a DJ and dance floor! It’s a great opportunity to get everything you need, save money and mingle with fellow students. Students must present a valid Nautilus Card to ride the bus.
When: Saturday, Aug. 20, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Where: Cannon Green
Come enjoy a picnic on the Cannon Green hosted by President Bense! Bring your appetite as we enjoy a summer barbecue and DJ music on the Cannon Green. Students must present a valid Nautilus Card. Lunch will be provided, and families are welcome. The Nautilus Market will be closed as UWF Dining and Argo Arrival bring you this special lunch event.
When: Sunday, Aug. 21, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Where: Pensacola Beach Park East | Buses depart from the Commons (Lot H)
Bus schedule: Buses leave campus at 10:20, 10:30 and 10:45 a.m. | Buses return to campus at 2:45, 3 and 3:15 p.m.
Head to the Commons (Parking Lot H) early to grab one a spot on the Beach Bash buses, or meet us at Pensacola Beach Park East. Relax and enjoy the waves, or try beach volleyball, spike ball, boccie ball, kayaking, swimming and dancing to DJ music at this annual beach party for all UWF students. Students must present a valid Nautilus Card and sign a participation waiver to receive a wristband, participate in recreation activities or receive free Beach Bash shirts and food from Firehouse Subs (distributed while supplies last). Students younger than 18 must bring a Beach Bash Participant Waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Bring your Nautilus Card, sunscreen, sunglasses, extra water, a towel and a hat. Please note this is a nonalcoholic event.

Come see the football team in action as the Argos prepare for our inaugural football season with this scrimmage and T-shirt giveaway. UWF students who present their valid student Nautilus Card will receive a FREE UWF shirt (one per student, while supplies last), sponsored by UWF Athletics and the Student Government Association. Parents, families, faculty and staff are invited to join in the fun as we cheer on the Argos.

With dozens of things to do and see, this event will keep you busy all night! Argos Night Out will take over the Commons with Cultural Explosion, Open Mic Night, Game Fest, a Rock Out the Red Zone dance party and more. Be sure to bring your Nautilus Card to enjoy the free games, food and prizes.
Game Fest: 6-11:30 p.m. | Commons Auditorium
Take on your friends, bring a team or try something new at Game Fest. This event will feature video games for all tastes on various consoles.
Cultural Explosion: 6-7:30 p.m. | Argo Galley
We bring the world to you! This event is a multicultural celebration with international food, music, dancing and prizes. Discover how you can learn, experience and explore other cultures. Learn about study abroad programs and how you can explore the world on your own and receive UWF credit.
Taste of Pensacola: 7-8:30 p.m. | Great Hall
Enjoy free food, drinks and giveaways at Taste of Pensacola as local restaurants and other businesses showcase their products and services in the Commons Great Hall. Learn about the diverse range of restaurants, stores and activities for you to enjoy during your time at UWF.
CAB Open Mic Night: Signup starts at 7:30 p.m. | Performances 8-9 p.m. | Argo Galley
Show off your musical, comedic, poetic, dramatic or other performance skills at this amazing display of student talent.
Rock Out the Red Zone: 9-11 p.m. | Great Hall
This video dance party will transform the Great Hall and increase awareness of the Red Zone — the time between the beginning of the fall semester and Thanksgiving break, when students are more at risk for experiencing sexual assault. Engage with student and community organizations, play games and win prizes and free T-shirts!
Sundae and Root Beer Float Social: 10-11 p.m. | Great Hall
There’s nothing sweeter than Argos Night Out! Float on by and feed your sweet tooth. University administration will be serving students root beer floats and ice cream.
When: Saturday, Aug. 27, 2:30-6:30 p.m., 5:30-9:30 p.m.
Where: Downtown Pensacola
Bus Schedule: The first bus leaves the Commons (Lot H) at 2:30 p.m. Buses will run between campus and downtown every half hour from until 5 p.m. The last bus will leave downtown at 6:30 p.m.
Join us as we explore downtown Pensacola for shopping, food, museums and more. Students will be dropped off on Palafox Street, one of the "10 Great Streets in America" (American Planning Association), within walking distance of local museums, parks, shops and restaurants. Only transportation will be provided for this portion of Argos Day Downtown. Students must present a valid Nautilus Card to ride the buses.
The first 100 students to catch the 5:30 p.m. bus at the Commons (Lot H) will receive a free ticket to the Blue Wahoos baseball game. Students must present a valid Nautilus Card to ride the bus and to be eligible to receive a free ticket. Return transportation to campus will be provided for these 100 students at the conclusion of the game.
There will also be approximately 30 more tickets available at the stadium on a first come, first served basis. Students must present a valid Nautilus Card to receive a free ticket. These students will be responsible for their own transportation at the conclusion of the game. Students who do not receive a free ticket are encouraged to attend. Tickets are $10.

Argopalooza is the Argo Arrival series finale and your best opportunity to get connected to campus life at the start of the semester. Check out the Student Organization Demo Stage and meet student leaders from 100+ student organizations to find those that match your interests. A valid student Nautilus Card is required to attend.
Student organizations: Student organizations must check in and set up their table between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Organizations will be assigned to an area in the Field House based on organization type, but tables will not be specifically assigned. Any organization that is not checked in by 6:30 p.m. forfeit its table to organizations on the wait list.
