Germaine (Geri) Battist

Executive Specialist

It took only three years of vacationing in the beautiful Pensacola Beach area to convince Geri and her husband to pull up roots from their hometown of Rockford, Ill., in 2006 and put down new roots in the Pensacola area. As the Executive Specialist for the Division of University Advancement, she is kept busy managing the Vice President’s calendar/schedule, preparing meeting materials, performing administrative functions and overseeing administrative support staff and services. In addition, Geri is the Campaign Manager for the capital campaign. She has been with the Advancement Division of the University of West Florida since July 2006 and is a 2010 recipient of the UWF Nautilus Professional Excellence Award. Battist earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Rockford Business College in 1990 and is currently completing courses toward a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts.


Patricia Barlow

Patricia M. Barlow

Board Administrator/Executive Specialist

Patricia Barlow serves as Board Administrator/Executive Specialist, providing administrative support for the boards that report to the Vice President for University Advancement. Patricia came to UWF with 20 years’ experience working with governing boards, primarily those of specialty nursing organizations. She served as the Manager of Accreditation Services at the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (formerly NLNAC) in Atlanta from 2009 to 2013 and worked in governance and administration for an association management company that provides professional management services for nursing associations in Pensacola, Fla., from 1992-2009. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of West Florida and a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication & Leadership, also from UWF.


Tripp, Deborah

Deborah Tripp

Office Manager

Deborah Tripp serves as the office administrator for the Division of University Advancement, where she provides administrative support to Development, Alumni Relations, Advancement Services and the UWF Foundation and University Marketing & Communications. Her responsibilities for the Division include budgeting, purchasing, travel, invoicing, maintaining supplies and inventory and scheduling meetings in the Alumni Conference Room, among many other administrative duties. In addition, Deborah coordinates and supervises up to three college work study students each semester. An employee of UWF for more than 20 years, Deborah has also served as Office Administrator in University Marketing & Communications and as both Secretary and Data Processing Control Specialist for the Small Business Development Center. Deborah earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Networking Services Technology from Pensacola State College.


Teresa Burgess

Teresa Burgess

Office Specialist

After 10 years living away from home, Teresa Burgess decided to relocate and move back to her beautiful hometown of Pensacola, FL, in 2013. Teresa serves as the Office Specialist for the Division of University Advancement. Her responsibilities within the Division include travel arrangements, purchases, invoicing, Alumni room scheduling, donor database updates, and much more. In 2006, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of South Florida in Tampa. Shortly after graduating, Teresa spent a year abroad in Yokohama, Japan, teaching English to local children and adults. After returning to the States, Teresa worked in San Francisco as an overseas partner adviser and student adviser for a non-profit cultural and educational exchange organization from 2008 to 2012. She has 10 years’ experience in administrative support for non-profit educational organizations within California and Florida. During her leisure time, Teresa travels the world with her husband, Adam, and 2 kids, Sophia and Kai. She enjoys visiting museums and volunteering in her community.
