Laura Dees, Ed.D., is a Professor in the Department of Teacher Education and Educational Leadership. She earned a B.S. (Bachelor of Science) in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University and a M.S. (Master of Science) in Elementary Education with a minor in reading and early childhood. She was a K-12 teacher in public education for 18 years.

Dr. Dees earned an Ed.D. in Teaching and Learning with an emphasis in Instructional Technology from the University of West Florida. She has been teaching at UWF for twenty years. Her research interests include mixed methods research, reading strategies, technology applications, and advocacy.
