She has served as a Visiting Lecturer at the Hangar Residency in Barcelona, Spain, and Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. Most recently, she has been awarded the honor of 2015 Artist in Residence Fellowship at the Everglades (AIRIE).
George works in time-based, sculptural and photographic media to explore the complex place where the following concepts merge: popular culture and sub-culture, sonic performance and musical entertainment, public and private space, place and non-place, urban and rural environments, and lastly, the archival document and the art object. The context of site precipitates her investigations of sonic, social, environmental, and cultural phenomena.
