What is Honors Convocation?
Honors Convocation is an annual celebration where faculty and students are recognized for their distinguished academic achievements. It is one of the university's most important academic traditions.
Will my name be in the Convocation Program?
If you made the President's or Dean's honor roll (Spring, Summer or Fall 2014) your name should appear in the Convocation Program.
Who can attend?
The event is open to the public.
What about seating?
Seating is limited and on a first come basis.
Will classes be canceled?
Classes will be canceled from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to allow students to attend the ceremony.
Are there Handicap services?
If you are receiving an award, and have special needs, please contact Irene A. Patti at (850) 474-3085 or email@example.com. A sign-language interpreter will also be on hand to translate.
President's Honor Roll?
All undergraduate students who earn a semester GPA of 3.90 or higher on a minimum of six semester hours of graded ("A-F") course work at UWF are recognized on the President's honor roll for the Spring, Summer or Fall semesters of 2014. Students will receive a letter indicating they have been named to the President's Honor Roll.
Dean's Honor Roll?
All undergraduate students who earn a semester GPA of 3.50 - 3.89 on a minimum of six semester hours of graded ("A-F") course work at UWF are recognized on the Dean's honor roll for the Spring, Summer or Fall semesters of 2014. Students will receive a letter indicating they have been named to the President's Honor Roll.
Honor Roll Awards?
There are no actual awards given out at Honors Convocation for making the President's or Dean's honor roll. Each group is asked to stand and be recognized for their academic achievement.
What Student Awards will be presented?
Hal Crosby Leadership Award, Who's Who in American Universities & Colleges, Outstanding Scholar Athletes, Outstanding Students, President's Leadership in Diversity Award (Student recipient)
What other Student Groups will be recognized?
President's Honor Roll, Dean's Honor Roll, John C. Pace Scholars, Voyages Student Leadership
What Faculty Awards will be presented?
Distinguished Faculty Service Award, Distinguished Research & Creative Activity Award, Distinguished Teaching Award, Faculty Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching & Advising Award, President's Leadership in Diversity Award (Faculty recipient), Adjunct Faculty Excellence
