The University of West Florida invites applications for the position of State Director for the Florida Small Business Development Center Network.
The State Director of the FL SBDC Network is responsible for annual strategic planning, development, accreditation, and management of programs and services offered by the Florida Small Business Development Center, and the development of resources required to operate those program and services. The State Director provides programmatic and financial oversight to the statewide operations of Florida's Network of eleven regional subcontracting State, Public, and Private Colleges and Universities participating as host institutions for an additional 28 SBDCs across the state of Florida.
Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of a master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience. Proven leadership skills, ability to develop and implement a collaborative comprehensive vision, strong finance and budgeting skills, experience with federal grants, accreditation and strategic planning, and strong business background including facets of owning a small business.
Preferred Qualifications: Having managed multiple sub-contract operations with a diverse geographic location, working with an advisory board, experience with academic units and processes, and prefer knowledge of the Spanish language.
