Welcome to the 7th North American Echinoderm Conference. The 7th NAEC will take place at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida June 1-6, 2014
As most attendees of past conferences will realize, North America is where the conference is held, not who attends. The whole world is welcome to show up and spread the echinoderm word regardless of where you hail from. Some of the past conferences have been dedicated to the career of individuals that have not only contributed to the study of echinoderms, but also fostered the creation of a "community" of researchers interacting with one another, and the 7th NAEC is being dedicated to David Pawson. As part of the dedication we have created 10 vouchers of $100 each to help off-set the cost for students to attend the conference. The application for the student vouchers is on the website.
The 7th NAEC schedule will be very similar to past conferences. A reception will be held Sunday, June 1, late afternoon/early evening. Presentations will begin Monday morning. Wednesday will be a free day with the conference banquet Wednesday evening. We have a great beach and I am planning perfect weather, so bring the family and a lot of sunscreen. The banquet is being held at the Hilton on Pensacola Beach. The conference will end after presentations Friday morning. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible the first week of June.
