What is your vision?
What is your impact?
The world isn't a perfect place, and it never will be.
But, how can it/will it be a better place because of
your existence?
A few semesters ago I invited two sociology students into each of my classes
to register students to vote and to encourage participation in local
government. So, what have you done since? This page is for you and for
any other students who got involved or would like to.
If you need a place to start
thinking, check out this Introduction
to Global Change on-line course. It's two semesters worth of material
on the physical nature of global change and the human impacts involved.
Try a few
of the lectures. You might be amazed/shocked by what you learn.

funding projects that improve the quality of life for people,
and that empower individuals to effect positive change in their
communities.

committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that
ever has."
-Margaret Mead-
wake up. Stand Up. Get MAD. SPEAK UP!
Here's a start: What in Pensacola do you value? What do you want to see changed?
- Adopt a policy of Ready For Change, Locally & Globally.
Make the effort to
understand the issues that affect children, families and
our natural environment, and throughout your career,
take your own steps to be part of the solutions.
- Get the facts, and call your
local Escambia County
and Santa Rosa County commissioners.
- Join with others, and write a proposal to Buffett's foundation.
