"Watch" format - ~468min(~7.8hrs) - see links below for streaming video of eStudio, Fall 2006.
"Listen" format - ~468min(~7.8hrs) - see links below, or take a loaner MP3 Player preloaded with all of the audio of eStudio, Fall 2006
if you prefer this format (great for long drives or down time at the airport, plus the built-in FM radio receiver allows you to listen
to WUWF 88.1 FM in between tracks and the built-in microphone means you can dictate your new eLearning ideas before you forget them!)
"Read" format - see links below for supplements to Watch and Listen, or search the data directory on the preloaded MP3 Player
for the files discussed in clips below.
"Face-to-Face" format - Check the ATC site for details.
We highly recommend the face-to-face version of eStudio if your schedule permits and/or you simply prefer this format!
The face-to-face version consists of 12 hours of face-to-face instruction (includes breaks),
taught in four 3-hour classes, typically on Monday evenings or Friday mornings. Typically the schedule consists of three consecutive
weeks in the first month of the semester, and the final class where you showcase your fully developed
course is the week before finals (aka during dead week).

- eCourse experience: Module 1 of ATC-Certified Online Instructor Course -
Online format only, but unmoderated, and self-paced! Experience an online course first, then apply the techniques to your course. For SAHLS folks, you will need to complete the entire ATC-Certified Online Instructor Course within your first 3 times teaching online with us.
- eBuds: Talk to your eColleagues and ask about being cross-enrolled as a guest instructor in courses similar to the one you are developing or facilitating and then cross-enroll those folks in your course - peek in on each other (from the comfort of home/work) when you need help, or if you have concerns about course topic redundancy issues. Don't forget you can also eBounce ideas off your eBuddy ePros - those are the folks in your group that have taught online one or more times. E-mail msutton@uwf.edu if you've forgotten your buds!
- eJams: Check your email for periodic face-to-face trainings to work through the kinks, resolve the problems, and make your course better (unlimited coffee and chocolate, ALWAYS).
- eMore with eGurus: See below for links to optional videos/audios from the ATC-Sponsored eGuru Lecture Series! Also check the ATC site for additional trainings, eChats, eFridays, and link outs to many, many more resources.
- eAwards: If you meet the minimum ATC-checklist requirements the first semester your course goes online, you will automatically be considered for one of our Annual eAwards - prizes include UWF items, Starbucks gift certificates, and more - categories include Most Creative Module, Most ATC-Compliant Course, Best New Use of An Instructional Strategy, and more!
- eLoading: If you are a course developer or facilitator without access to Articulate or Adobe Professional, you get free eLoading support here (and, yes, this makes you a freeLoader! to us). Use your Argonet login ID and password and drag/drop files to the folder with your name on it. Send an email with your name, filename, course/module name and due date to your tech support liaison (for SAHLS folks, this is: msutton@uwf.edu), and we will work to get the file converted and uploaded into eLearning for you.
eAssessment & eMotivation: eRubric resistance is eFutile - you will be eAssimilated, but
we will eHelp you with this, A LOT. We realize developing and delivering a course online
can be challenging and things don't always go as one expects. Following each semester you teach online,
you will
receive a copy of the standard State of Florida-mandated course evaluations. In addition (for SAHLS folks only), for skills-training
related to your online experiences, you will be directed to audio-files in your
freeLoader account, or we can preload an MP3 Player
with these files. Our goal is to keep these mini-audios related to improving your course experiences
to no more than 5 minutes long. We promise to talk fast and give you plenty of ideas to choose from. Some audios
will come from other UWF folks teaching courses like yours that
experienced similar problems, have a funny story to tell regarding some online instructional technique,
or simply have learned other methods to make a similar point online. Our goal is to make assessment
and ongoing quality improvement
a seamless and enjoyable process within all our programs, and as paperless as possible!
- eLittles: Are you a Big Brother or Big Sister? If so, talk to your case worker about meeting your Match Goal Log requirements with online course development. A 1 GB MP3 Player can be purchased for under $60. Audio clips for your courses can be created and edited with a $10 microphone and free software. Video clips can be created from mid-range webcams (~$100) or low-end mini-DV digital camcorders (~$300) and edited with free software. Kids (and adults!) of all ages love this video/sound editing stuff, your Little can see/hear your passion for teaching *and* get great technical skills training along the way!
Online / some also available Offline on preloaded MP3 Players or in face-to-face trainings!)
OPTIONAL PEER-TO-PEER SUPPORT:
STEP 1: eTraining with ATC's eStudio
MINIMUM SKILL-BUILDING: Watching the videos below (from the comfort of home/work!) OR listening online (or offline on an MP3 Player!) is required by SAHLS folks.eStudio is approximately 12 hours of face-to-face training by UWF's ATC, teaching you what works and what doesn't work in developing and teaching online courses. The goal is for you to create a great online course with a process and implementation plan that results in a positive online experience for both you and your students. We filmed the Monday night version of this course in Fall 2006. (NOTE: We are not filming professionals. Out takes at the end of any footage are provided for comic relief only.) We still need to edit or reshoot many provided below to improve the sound quality. In the interim, crank up the volume, and enjoy!) Many, many thanks to those in the inaugural class that were part of these efforts.

STEP 3: eCourse experience with ATC-Certified Online Instructor Course
MINIMUM SKILL-BUILDING: Module 1 is required by SAHLS folks considering teaching an online course. Once your course is developed and ready for delivery, SAHLS folks will also be asked to complete the certification within the first 3 times teaching online.
This course is designed for faculty and adjuncts who have a completed eLearning development
course and are preparing to offer their course online in an upcoming term.
However, we need everyone considering teaching an online course with us to work through
Module 1 now, because
it gives you the chance
to see what it feels like to be in an online course at UWF! This module is unmoderated and totally self-paced.
From the student perspective,
as you work through the material, think about it - what features of this course are your favorites
and how might you modify the details for your course? Even if you've taught online already, everyone we've directed to this course has
walked away with something useful!
When you complete Module 1, and you are ready to continue with additional Modules in this course
(outside of the indicated dates), please email your tech support liaison (in SAHLS, this is: msutton@uwf.edu), and we will work with ATC to get the
material to you.
