How far are you willing to go?

You can receive extra credit in this course through activity with UWF's Center for Learning through Organized Volunteer Efforts. Opportunities are available in both the Pensacola and FWB areas. You must volunteer at least 35 service learning hours at a community agency and write a 3 page summary of your experiences. Your must pursue activities which utilize your bioinformatics skills and therefore facilitate your overall professional development. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact CLOVE and let me know which community agency you will be involved with.

• You can choose do this anytime this semester, but you must let me know as soon as you decide, and you must complete the hours prior to Week 11 of the course.
• You will receive 2 points automatically for this activity and 4 points for an outstanding effort. These points will be added to your FINAL grade point average in the class.
• You must submit documentation from CLOVE indicating the number of volunteer hours worked, and your summary paper must be submitted to me no later than Week 12 of the course.

Opportunity #2: Attend class regularly for additional in-class opportunities.
