A survey of methods, theories, and body of knowledge of contemporary psychology, including such topics as learning, motivation, sensation and perception, development, thinking, personality, social behavior, psychological adjustment, and methods of therapy. (General Studies Course: SS/BEH) |

Course Objectives |
|
This course is designed to give you an introduction to the major areas of theory and research in psychology. Psychology is a field of study that has great relevance to our everyday lives. We form our own theories about human behavior and are exposed to other’s theories daily through social interaction and the media. This course will teach you about the scientific knowledge of human behavior and help you to critically evaluate psychological theories and findings you are exposed to in your everyday life. By the end of this course you should have a deeper understanding of your own behavior and the behavior of other people. |
