Web Presence Project
UWF President John Cavanaugh provided the impetus for a review of the
university’s existing Web site with an expressed desire for a more
robust Web Presence. Following this directive, Executive Vice President Hal
White asked Associate Vice President of Marketing Communications Patrick
Crawford and Chief Information Officer Michael Dieckmann to form a joint
team comprised of representatives from Information Technology Services and
University Marketing Communications to develop a plan to establish a common
visual identity and navigation system for UWF Web sites. University Marketing
Communications and Information Technology Services collaborated from the
outset, since the design influenced the technical requirements of the site
and the information architecture had a bearing on the design. University
Web developers have begun to use the new template system and work with the
appropriate review committees to ensure that sites are in compliance with
intent of the project. Currently, University Marketing Communications and
Information Technology Services handle site reviews and questions regarding
the project via e-mail at webpresence@uwf.edu.
