UWF Library
The John C. Pace Library is located on the main campus in Pensacola and houses more than 752,000 volumes, 1.2 million microforms, and 5,100 serial subscriptions. Access is provided to thousands of full-text electronic journals. The library is also designated as a regional depository for publications of the United States government and the state of Florida. UWF Writing Lab
The UWF Writing Lab is housed in Building 52. Any UWF student, regardless of being enrolled in a composition course or not, may make use of the Writing Lab's services. Paper reading/critiquing and tutoring in grammar and usage, mechanics, and sentence structure are some of the more utilized services. Also available are the Reference Library, Essay Bank, help with ELS and essay portions of the CLAST tests, diagnostics tests, Business and Professional Writing resources, and self-study programs. MathStat Lab
The Mathematics and Statistics Tutoring Lab is located in Building 38, Room 147. The MathStat Lab is provided by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics for the purpose of providing tutoring to UWF students in the areas of Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Pre-calculus Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus I, II, and III, Elements of Statistics, Mathematics for Liberal Arts I and II, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Discrete Mathematics. UWF Learning Center
The UWF Learning Center is located in Building 52, Room 151. The purpose of the UWF Learning Center is to provide face-to-face and online tutoring assistance and academic support services to students currently enrolled at UWF. The UWF Learning Center is the only tutoring lab that offers tutoring assistance in all subject areas. Other services offered include preparation for the GRE, CLAST, and Florida Teacher Certification Exam tests. Please visit the UWF Learning Center web site for more information.
UWF Testing Center
The UWF Testing Center is located in Building 21. UWF Testing Services administers examinations required for admission to college, graduate and professional schools, as well as many other specialized exams. Some examples of exams offered include the ACT, SAT, CLAST, CLEP, GRE, GMAT, MCAT, LSAT, and TOEFL. UWF has a computer-based test center with stations configured for use by a disabled candidate. SAIL Lab
The Student Access Information Lab, or SAIL Lab, is located in Building 79. The SAIL Lab is a general purpose 24 hour access lab for use by students. Accessibility stations are available for disabled students. Please visit the SAIL Lab web site for more information.
College
COB Capstone Lab
The College of Business Capstone Lab is located in Building 76, Room 121. The purpose of this lab is to provide students with a quiet work area in which they can either meet with group members to work on Capstone simulations, or study alone. While preference is given to College of Business students, the Capstone Lab is open to all UWF students, when seats are available. Specialized software available in the Capstone Lab includes SAS, SPSS, Research Insight, Minitab, Visual Studio, R, and Alice. Hours of operation are Monday thru Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, except when otherwise posted.
COB Computer Classroom
The College of Business Computer Classroom is located in Building 76, Room 127. The purpose of this lab is to provide instructors and students a specialized computer classroom environment in which to conduct business classes. This lab is closed to general use and only available for use by College of Business classes as scheduled. Specialized software available in the COB Computer Classroom includes SAS, SPSS, Research Insight, Minitab, Visual Studio, R, PostgreSQL client and Alice.
Compustat database
The College of Business provides access to the Compustat database for all faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students at UWF. The software may be accessed in the SAIL Lab, COB Capstone Lab, COB Computer Classroom, AIS Lab, Tax & Accounting Library, and via eDesktop. Access to eDesktop can be gained via the eD tab in ARGUS, UWF's online portal. An active UWF faculty, staff, or student account is required to login to ARGUS.
Department
MIS Lab
The Management Information Systems Lab is located in Building 76, Room 119. The purpose of this lab is to provide a lab environment for students enrolled in the MIS program to work in groups, or solo on MIS-related projects. This lab is a 24 hour limited access lab open to MIS majors only. Specialized software available in the MIS Lab includes SAS, SPSS, Visual Studio, Alice and the PostgreSQL client.
