Music Director of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, Peter Rubardt, continues to inspire artistic excellence, and to create innovative programs for the Pensacola community. We'll consider the historical development of the orchestra from the simple polyphony of the Renaissance to the dazzling array of instruments that fill the stage today. Along the way, we'll look at the specifics of how certain instruments are played, what they are good at or not so good at, and how that affected the way composers wrote their music. For your listening pleasure, hear numerous selections from some of the best-loved orchestral compositions.
