Terri Schisler, M. Ed., CI & CT, has been an interpreter in northwest Florida since 1990. She has been nationally certified since 1997, holds a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instructional Development and has completed the Master Mentor program at Northeastern University. She currently works as a VRS Interpreter for Sorenson Communications and is a mentor in the Sorenson VI-P program. Other job experience includes 6 years as a staff interpreter at Pensacola Junior College (PJC) and 19 years in community and educational interpreting. Terri has 10 years experience teaching ASL at the high school and college level, has led study groups for interpreters preparing for the NIC written and also led training in interpreter skills assessment.
Terri currently serves as the President, FRID. She has encouraged the professional development of interpreters through her leadership as Secretary, FRID; Local Site Coordinator for the FRID QA and EIE since 2002; service on the FRID Bylaws Committee; and as Treasurer of the 1998 RID Region II Conference.
