Thank you for your interest in Mobile Distance Learning at the University of West Florida. We hope to facilitate your completion of the Arabic Language and Culture (ALC) certificate utilizing the mobile technology of a ultra mobile personal computer (UMPC).
As your dedicated advisor to this new program I would like to introduce myself. My name is Marc Churchwell; I am the guy that will be assisting you in enrolling here at the University of West Florida and ultimately registering for the classes you choose. I joined the Navy in 1976 and retired in 2004 as a Master Chief Petty Officer. I served tours as Chief of the Boat and Command Master Chief. Now I am continuing to serve as your advisor in this new innovative Mobile Distance Learning program. I have taken college classes underway onboard submarines and I understand what it takes to manage the hours in the days to successfully complete a class. I am here to help those of you who choose to take one of these courses to succeed with this particular certificate program and continue on into a degree program.

For non-Florida residents, the ALC certificate program is eligible for the out-state-fee waiver which will substantially reduce the tuition costs from out of state rates.
