Web Hosting
Web Hosting space is provided to everyone at UWF. This space is referred to as your I: drive. The I: drive works like a folder on your computer, except anything saved on the I: drive is posted to the Internet. This allows you to create a website for class, post your resume to the web, or just share information with friends. Like the H: drive, the I: drive is automatically backed up every hour and is available from any location with an Internet connection. It is also secure - the contents of your web files can only be modified by someone with your ArgoNet password. Students receive 500MB of web space which is shared with your file storage space.
Your I: drive is easily accessible through MyUWF, the UWF website for students and employees. Here you can open your I: drive and monitor your storage quota. You will also find your I: drive in eDesktop, computer labs, and office computers.
| If you are interested in creating webpages on your I: drive, there are many software programs to help you. Two of these programs, FrontPage and Dreamweaver, are available in eDesktop and select computer labs. Advanced web developers can request a data source for dynamic web pages. Once you have a website, you can publish it as part of your UWF directory listing. Resources are also available to allow you to publish podcasts and video streams on your website. | ![]() |
