For Students on International Exchange Paying Tuition to UWF
Students’ academic work abroad will appear on their transcripts in the same format as work completed at UWF. While the student is participating in the Study Abroad Program, he/she is registered at the University of West Florida and remains a fully enrolled student. Once the study abroad program has been completed and students’ grades have been turned in, the ODIEP will have these results added to the UWF record. A student’s transcript will show the name of the host school as well as specific course credits and grades from abroad.
As part of their preparation for going abroad, all students are required to meet with their academic advisor to discuss the courses they plan to take while abroad to ensure that they will be counted as a part of the student’s academic program at UWF. Students, together with their advisor, must complete the International Exchange Advising Agreement prior to the semester of exchange. UWF courses must be approved by the Chair of the UWF department offering the courses.
For Students Studying Abroad Paying Tuition to the Host School or Program
Students will be awarded transfer credit. Students must complete the UWF Transient Student Form and provide the signed form to the Registrar’s Office prior to the semester of exchange. Students not paying tuition to UWF must provide an official transcript to the UWF Office of Admissions by the end of the semester following the semester of exchange. Acceptability of university credit will be determined by the Office of Admissions.
