The Office of Diversity and International Education and Programs (ODIEP) addresses the needs of an increasingly diverse student body through a myriad of programs that promote awareness and educate students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding northwest Florida community.
The ODIEP provides leadership and coordinates the John C. Pace, Jr. Symposium Series bringing greater understanding of our diverse student body. It also manages the university’s study- abroad programs providing opportunities for UWF students to attend universities in Europe, Asia, and Central and South America.
The ODIEP provides support to international students such as immigration document processing, planning professional development internships, and organizing special events to aid in their cultural acclimation to the United States.
The office also facilitates faculty interests in teaching abroad and international faculty coming to UWF to conduct research and/or teach. In addition, each semester the ODIEP’s provides intensive English instruction to international students seeking to improve their English language skills before enrolling in college. For the greater northwest Florida community, the ODIEP offers conversational language and international cultural classes. Citizens interested in learning more about a particular international culture or a foreign language for traveling or business purposes may enroll in these classes.
Throughout the year, the ODIEP provides educational and entertainment programming for the entire university and northwest Florida communities.
