Innovate. Design. Experience. Act.
Using our IDEA design process for each project, we will work to create transformational experiences in each of the following areas.
- Online Innovation Hub The Online Innovation Hub focuses on accelerated online learning by developing new methods for increasing student engagement, student support toward retention and aligning distinct alignment toward career fields. In conjunction with our partners from Academic Partnerships, the College of Professional Studies, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business and UWF’s award-winning Academic Technology Center the Innovation Institute is aligned to bridge the gap between higher education and workforce needs. For more information, contact Dr. Pam Northrup.
- Complete Florida This legislatively funded program is for those who have stopped out of college, but are now interested to come back and complete their degrees. Through fully online, competency-based learning, accelerated courses and prior learning assessment all areas of this program are tailored to workforce related degrees. Using a concierge-based approach to student services, Complete Florida will facilitate retention and degrees earned. Our Florida partners currently include St. Petersburg State College, the Florida Virtual Campus, the College of Professional Studies and the College of Arts and Sciences. For more information, contact Dr. Pam Northrup.
- STEM Immersive Education Experience Immersive education experiences provide engaging story-based, learning opportunities for middle and high students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) career fields. Our partners include the National Flight Academy, school districts around the country, Aviation Classroom Experience (ACE), museums, science centers, and TEQ Games at Universal Studios along with our College of Professional Studies at the University of West Florida. For more information, contact Dr. Dave Dawson.
- Information Technology Performance With a focused approach on connecting students directly to industry, this initiative engages students with targeted certificate and academic programs that are deeply connected to the communities and the information technology industries we serve. The center also provides a hub for research and new certificates, undergraduate and graduate programs in cyber security. Our partners include the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business, the College of Professional Studies and Analyst Warehouse, Inc. (an InDyne Company). More partners are being on boarded as we develop our presence in cyber security. For more information, contact Mrs. Jennifer Edge.
